Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico 2013 by Bertani

Indulge in a timeless experience with Amarone della Valpolicella Classico, an exquisitely layered wine originating from the Tenuta Novare Estate in the Valpolicella Classica region. This exceptional vintage boasts a blend of 80% Corvina Veronese and 20% Rondinella grapes, nurtured in the unique soil conditions of limestone and vulcanite.

Every vine used in the creation of this wine has been trained using the Double Guyot system, ensuring optimum grape quality from a density of 5000 vines per hectare. These mature vines, averaging 20 years of age, yield about 100 quintals per hectare.

In a meticulous winemaking process, the grapes are air-dried in traditional rooms without any artificial temperature or humidity controls. They rest on racks for 99 days before being crushed in early January. The wine then ages for a staggering eight years in 50-100 hectolitre Slavonian oak barrels. Following this, it undergoes at least one more year of bottle maturation to reach its peak.

With an alcohol content of 15.5%, a total acidity of 6 g/l, and a pH of 3.45, Amarone della Valpolicella Classico captivates your senses from the very first whiff. Its Barolo-like nose offers an expansive aromatic spectrum, while its palate is a tour de force of flavor and intensity. The wine is sharply focused, underscored by grainy tannins and a cedary backdrop that elevates its complexity and beauty to monumental levels.
